Born in 1937 in Bavaria. Studied in Dortmund to become a window dresser and then poster artist.
Between 1975 and 1989 Franz Heigl worked as general manager in the fashion industry.
Since the late eighties he worked as a freelance artist and graphic designer and owned an art gallery with an integrated studio, where he worked until his death in the autumn of 2011.
Heigl has had various exhibitions in Germany and abroad.
His strength is the variety of colours and themes he displays. He masterfully transforms landscapes, still life and flowers into his very own unique style. The light brushstrokes and the variety of colours are characteristic of his images.
His images on prints and calendars have gained world-wide popularity and have been successfully licensed for other products as well.
