Jean-Honoré Fragonard was a French painter and etcher who lived during the 18th century. His style is firmly rooted in Rococo, but also shows elements of Roman baroque and his adoration for the masters of the Dutch school. In his paintings, he creates intimate romantic scenes in light, but also colourful, tones. One of Fragonard’s most popular works is called ‘The Swing’.
