Kamisaka Sekka is well-known as one of the last representatives of the traditional Japanese Rimpa school. At a time where Western influence was becoming stronger in Japan, Sekka produced variations of traditional designs on numerous materials so as not to allow them to become unfashionable. His largest work is the Momoyogusa, which consists of 60 colour woodcuts with classical, innovative and floral designs. You can order a selection of his designs in our store – also as wood prints!
